Nippers

Every Sunday throughout the summer, over 65,000 children aged between five and fourteen hit the beaches of Australia for Surf Lifesaving’s junior activity programme. The Nippers, as participants are called, learn surf and sun safety, board and swim skills, and lifesaving techniques on a journey to being lifesavers of the future. But most of all, they’re on the beach to have fun with their friends. Combining location footage with simple animated graphics, this series delivers tips on subjects ranging from rips to body surfing, sand running techniques and surfboard skills. This obs-doc series is a vibrant, colourful collage of action, excitement and challenges driven by the emotional experiences of our characters – along with their friends, competitors, parents and lifesavers.
