Paul Clarke

Executive Producer

Celebrated filmmaker and entertainment producer Paul Clarke is both renowned and revered as Australia’s leading creator of music and popular culture entertainment and films.  Most recently Paul was the writer, director and executive producer of the acclaimed documentary feature Midnight Oil: The Hardest Line which opened the 2024 Sydney Film Festival before a national theatrical release and premiere on ABC TV.

 

Previously, Paul was the co-writer and executive producer of the AACTA and TV Week Logie Award winning documentary feature John Farnham: Finding the Voice which smashed Australian box office records in 2023.  An originator of the much-lauded live music series Recovery (ABC TV 1996-2000), Paul also wrote, directed and produced the hit documentary series on Australian rock Long Way to The Top (2001), and the Long Way to The Top national concert tour (2002). He was creator and the original executive producer and writer of the award-winning Spicks and Specks (2005), which is so named because it is the only song he can play on the piano. He was writer and director of the award-winning Bombora – The Story of Australian Surfing documentary series and wrote and directed Whitlam: The Power & The Passion (2013), as well as Brilliant Creatures: Robert Hughes, Germaine Greer, Clive James, and Barry Humphries (2015) for the BBC. Clarke was the writer and director of Blood and Thunder: The Sound of Alberts (2016, ABC/BBC4) and has produced multi-camera live concert tour shows for Metallica, AC/DC, Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams.

 

In 2025 Paul will manage the 20 camera event coverage of Cold Chisel – The Big 5-0: 50th Anniversary Concert for the Seven Network.

Melinda developed, produced and co-executive produced the celebrated ABC drama The Family Next Door which has been embraced by audiences and critics alike.  Previously Development & Production Executive, Melinda worked across both seasons of Troppo (ABC and Amazon Freevee). She has produced several of Beyond’s most successful children’s and family entertainment series including the Emmy Award winning animation series Beat Bugs for Netflix, Motown Magic also for Netflix, and Hoopla Doopla which was a co-production between ABC and CCTV in China.

 

Appointed Head of Scripted in 2025, Melinda is responsible for developing Beyond’s premium scripted slate.

Executive Producer

David joined Beyond Entertainment in 2016 from his five-year role as commissioning editor of drama at ABC Australia. He has been responsible for some of Australia’s most successful drama series including The Code, Rake and Janet King – all of which he executive produced, and the acclaimed East West 10, contributing as writer and script producer. As Beyond Entertainment’s head of scripted, David is passionate about working with Australia’s leading writers and emerging talent to showcase premium Australian stories for a global audience.

Head of Feature Films & Documentaries

Martin is an experienced music and film producer and has also written books on rock music. He founded the Regular Records label, representing artists including Mental as Anything and Icehouse, before forming Mushroom Pictures in 1993. Here, he produced the Molly Ringwald film Cut and was EP on Andrew Dominik’s iconic debut film, Chopper, as well as the award-winning Cedar Boys and Great Australian Albums, named as 2008’s best TV series by The Australian newspaper. He joined Beyond in 2010, where, in addition to creating a wide variety of factual programming, he continues to produce content featuring musical icons such as AC/DC and Midnight Oil.
