A Team of Champions (Nyoongar Footy Magic)

The series uses first hand interviews with the players and their families to tell the story of how, following colonisation of their traditional homelands in South Western Australia, and suffering terrible hardship from colonial rule, the Nyoongar people mastered Australian Rules football and used it as a way to build respect, pride and employment for their people. Featuring a mix of biographical and sporting archival footage, the series aims to find out what it is about Nyoongar football players that makes them so exceptional on the football field.
